Staying at a bed and breakfast is just one way to save on your hotel cost while visiting London.  Booking during the off months of the year is another and if you are staying just a few night, Sunday and Monday are the cheapest. This is more geared for the backpackers and the younger travelers.  Even if you do want what the hotels offer, you can still find a good deal by being flexible with your location and your travel dates.  Forgoing some of the hotel amenities can secure you the lowest hotel price.  So give a B&B a try on your next visit to London and see how you like it.
