If you had to pick the most important facet of the ideal holiday, what would it be? There are of course many aspects which can make or break that perfect getaway, and perhaps the most important of these is setting. This isn’t to say that the other facets of the ideal holiday which we have come to take for granted are not important at all. Without entertainment, price and indeed relaxation thrown into the mix, a holiday would not be a holiday in the first place, but getting the setting right is perhaps top of the tree. After all, you might be able to relax in a basic hotel on the motorway in Swindon, but you’re unlikely to think of it as a holiday right?

So, if you are looking for the perfect location for your next break, be it a mini-break or one of significantly greater length, you could do much, much worse than consider one of the many family run lake district hotels such as the Ellerthwaite Lodge…

Amongst the many reasons for this choice is the issue of location, or, if you’d prefer, setting. See, there are literally hundreds and hundreds of hotels in the lake district and each of these establishments has something different to offer in terms of setting. For example, there are rural lake district hotels which take you back to nature, allowing you step out of the door and into a lush, green environment which couldn’t be further removed from the city or town you’ve been looking to escape. These places are likely to offer magnificent log fires and a traditional feel, and yet some are also more modern in terms of décor and set-up and yet maintain this all important link to nature which for many of us can completely make or brake a holiday or getaway. The lake district is of course a place of significant natural beauty and as such, the scenery which awaits you on the doorstep of numerous lake-district-hotels would be hard to beat, particularly in the United Kingdom.

However, perhaps you fancy something a little more urban and yet equally as attractive to the naked eye. If so, you are also catered for. The lakes themselves are well known, but there are plenty of delightful towns in the region, each with an attractive layout, offering a range of amenities and with a rich and detailed history. So, if you are all about the location and, let’s face it, when booking a holiday there is no greater facet which deserves your attentions, then a lake district hotel might be right up your street, so to speak.

Finding cheap airfare and accommodation is important and not paying full price will make your trip even better. It is possible to find cheap package deals, cheap accommodations in the off season and you can find cheap Florida holidays if you want to visit the theme park capitol of the world.

If you’re looking for beach holidays that include plenty of sightseeing and some beautiful landscapes, you can’t really go wrong if you book a break that involves island hopping around Greece.

Off the mainland there are thousands of isles, of which a couple of hundred are inhabited. The archipelago is separated into a number of groups – including the Ionian Islands, the Cyclades, the Dodecanese, the Argo-Saronic Islands and the Sporades – and you can travel between many of the clusters by ferry.

Renowned for its pleasant climate, tasty Mediterranean cuisine and rich history, Greece and its surroundings make for the ideal holiday, especially if you make the journey during the summer months when you can enjoy plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures.

You can book accommodation before you travel, or, if you relish the spontaneity of last-minute breaks, you’ll often find locals waiting at the ferry terminal to offer rooms at their guesthouses.

Why not start your Grecian adventure at the largest isle – Crete? Located at the southern edge of the Aegean Sea, Crete boasts wonderfully rugged scenery along with some golden sands, ideal for making the most of the sunshine and working on your tan.

Additionally, the island is home to a palm tree forest, numerous Byzantine churches and fascinating ruins, such as the Minoan Palace of Knossos.

There are three airports in Crete, so you might choose to find accommodation on the island for ease of travelling to and from Greece.

Next, board a flight for Santorini – one of the Cyclades islands. The spot was the site of the massive Minoan eruption from the volcano Thera thousands of years ago and retains its craggy landscape as a result. Here, you can view the volcanic crater or climb up to the capital of Fira, which perches on clifftops and affords amazing views over the water below.

Afterwards, journey to the prehistoric site of Akrotiri to admire the sight of ancient buildings that are remarkably intact, or take a boat ride out to Red Beach or White Beach and spend some time on the sands. Alternatively, stay on the boat and opt for a tour of the volcanic islands.

From Santorini, you can take the ferry to Mykonos, another of the Cyclades islands and arguably the archipelago’s most famous spot. The isle is the place to be if you enjoy a party atmosphere and boasts sophisticated nightlife that attracts thousands of visitors every year. You can enjoy dancing until dawn and recover on one of the many beautiful beaches to be found here, some of which offer water sports facilities if you feel like cooling off.

Take a ferry to Syros next and admire the Venetian and neoclassical buildings before heading on to the Dodecanese island of Patmos. The mountainous region’s impressive monastery is its main landmark and the site is well worth a visit.

A religious island, Patmos has long been a site of pilgrimage as a result of being the place where St John received a vision from Jesus. There are a few UNESCO World Heritage sites to explore here, including the island’s historic centre Chora, as well as the monastery.

Make your way around the bustling port and soak up the sun at Agriolivadi Bay or Cape Yenoupa before you journey on to Leros – a pretty little island that is largely unspoiled and offers some authentic Greek charm.

The isle was once used as a prison for political rebels and also as a naval base by the Italians and Germans, but is now a calm, relaxed spot where you can explore the remains of a Byzantine castle or browse the fresh food on sale at the markets.

Brush up on your local culture with a visit to the archaeological museum or the war museum on the island or call in at the well-preserved old flour mill.

Head to Kos next via the ferry and spend some time relaxing on the beaches here – one of the island’s main draws. It is equally well known for its buzzing nightlife and if you’re in the mood to party you’ll find a wealth of bars and clubs to visit.

From here, you can take a boat to Rhodes, home to a beautiful sandy coastline, inland forests, mountain villages and medieval architecture.

Make your way around the old town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and wander through the Valley of the Butterflies before sampling some rustic Greek food at one of the upmarket restaurants to be found here.

These are just some of the many Greek Islands you can visit – for more holiday ideas to Greece and elsewhere visit iWantSun.co.uk.

If you have not seen the Oasis of the Seas, owned by Royal Caribbean Cruises, then you have not seen the largest and most recently launched cruise ship. This ship is twenty stories tall and currently the largest passenger liner in the world. Its length measures one-thousand one-hundred and eighty feet and it is five time the size of the Titanic.

The crew on this ship total twenty-one hundred and it can accommodate over six-thousand passengers. The creation of this ship took six years with a cost of 1.3 billion, all done in Turku, a city in Finland. It offers an impressive outdoor amphitheater that can seat seven-hundred and fifty people and offers a miniature gold course, volleyball and basket courts and even an ice rink. There are so many swimming pools on this ship, everyone will find room to play in the water. As to its comparison to the Titanic, if this ship were to collided with an iceberg, there would be little concern, claimed assistant professor of Navel Architecture and Marine Engineering. He also said all ships today are designed in such a way that structural collapse is very remote. Why not book your next cruise on what is considered the largest cruise liner.

Have you and your friends ever planned a weekend away, with no guys? Many girlfriends will get together and make plans to spend a weekend at a spa or on a cruise and leave their men at home. They call it a “girls only weekend” and they spend it enjoying each others company and partying in a way that only girls can.

It is often the case that not all these girls have a significant other. Single friends might be on the look out for a new relationship and they might choose to try a dating service because they are not happy being single. This is one way to help locate and be matched with someone who has the same values and interests as they do.

No matter who in this group of friends is married or not, girlfriends always find a way to have fun. They might have a time set aside each year to take a trip somewhere and even if some move away, their annual meeting is never forgotten because these friends are friends for life. If you are part of a group like this, consider yourself lucky to have such a great connection.

Living in North Wales is now more than convenient, especially since there are a lot of supporting services and facilities now available online. The same goes for airport transfers. With top service providers such as Jay’s Travel Direct offering superb services, there is no reason why you shouldn’t enjoy your trip from the very start. It is also not surprising to find out that airport transfer services are actually very affordable. Getting airport transfers Shotton pick-up is just as easy and affordable as using a regular taxi or other public transportation; in fact, the airport transfer services we have today are averagely cheaper compared to other transport options.

Another great benefit of using airport transfers is the ability to travel with the entire family conveniently. You don’t have to take two or three taxis, use your own car and park it at the airport, or utilize other inconvenient options because a good airport transfer service can help you nicely. All you need to do is ask for a minibus or other vehicles according to the number of people traveling with you. One thing you need to remember is to get only the licensed airport transfer service providers; you will get the best level of services this way.

It’s true, we live in a digital world and it helps to be able to access information while traveling. You can check to see that your flight is on time or what weather conditions you will find at your destination. If you have an iPhone, you can use the travel app to get the information you require. You can then turn a difficult cross-country trip into one that is easy and comfortable.

The FlightTrack app is very popular and great for those who often fly. You also have access to radar maps and a listing of gate numbers. If you are interested in safety features of the plane you will be on, that too can be found on an app. Those who take road trips can use Trapster which is a free app. It lets you know of red light cameras ahead and also where the speed traps are.

The CheapGas app can save you money on fuel costs as you travel from country to country or from state to state. Anyone can save on their trip by using a Thomson discount code for tours, hotels, attractions and to find that perfect getaway at the best possible price.

When it comes to exploring Ireland, in order to fully experience everything that is available, the best way of transportation is unquestionably a car hire. Out of all of the options, 121 Car Hire Ireland is the most capable and geared towards giving you the freedom of exploring Ireland without any annoying restrictions. All of the other choices of transportation like taking a bus, taxi or the train have a strict, set schedule to follow. By this being so, the advantage and luxury of deciding where and when you would like to go somewhere is not possible. Although taking a taxi is capable of taking you where you want to go, this way of transportation can spoil your plans due to the requirement of having to pay for every second you spend using its service.

Relying on a car hire will give you the best opportunity to get the most out of Ireland, but in order to boost the benefits that much more you will have to first find and settle with the best offered deal. With that said, this strictly means to find different companies and compare their offered quotes to eliminate them one by one until you are down to the one best company to hire your car from.

There is something special about going out on the road with your family in a motorhome rental essex. It’s just a different type of trip; the kind that you know you will always look back on with nothing but happy thoughts. With that in mind, there are some things that you need to consider when you are looking to rent a motor home, namely that you are renting one that is big enough for your family. In a way, a motor home is like a camping tent: you always need more room than you think you need. Just because a motor home says that it can hold four people doesn’t mean that you should pick it when you are going with three people.

The key is to take a look at the motorhome rental Essex and be realistic with yourself. Is it really worth saving a little bit of money is everyone is just going to be miserable packed like sardines? You are better off getting something that is bigger where people can have a little extra room to sprawl out if they need to, especially when it comes time for bed. You can find out more info on which motor homes are available to you by doing a quick search online.
