Hunting dogs

The image of a dog going on a hunting trip is either of a happy canine retrieving a piece of game for his owner or of a seemingly sad dog “trapped” in one or more dog cages at the back of a car. This is something that we need to shed because the dogs are neither sad nor are they uncomfortable when they are kept in one of these dog cages. If you have a dog, you’ll understand this a lot better, but you’ll be able to get it even if you don’t. When you take your dog for a walk, it gets really happy, especially at the sight of the leash. This is because your dog knows that when you get the leash it’s time to go out on a walk, so it associates the leash with that happy feeling. And it’s a very similar thing when it comes to the cage

A dog that’s bred for hunting feels fulfilled when doings its job. Dogs in general like to be given a job, and when said job matches its breed than its happiness at doing the job increases tenfold. So a dog will look at the cage as the means to get to that happy place and, like the leash, it associates it with happy times.
